Glossary
These words come up throughout the docs; they nest one inside another, and once you see the layers everything connects (the hierarchy is laid out in Core concepts).
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Smart Space | The whole environment you hand to seenzus to look after — every Site, every device, the preferences it has learned and the rules you’ve set, taken together as one whole. |
| Site | One standalone property, such as a home, a café, a guesthouse. One account can have several. |
| Space | A room-level unit inside a Site, such as the living room, the main bedroom, the bar counter. seenzus acts and remembers at the scale of a Space. |
| Device | One connected thing that can be controlled or read, such as a light, an air conditioner, a door lock, a sensor. |
| Source / Integration | The doorway through which devices enter your space; the most common is Home Assistant. |
| Bridge (seenzus Bridge integration) | The integration that runs inside Home Assistant and connects your devices in securely. |
| Rules | Hard boundaries you set for the butler; it follows them to the letter in everything it does. |
| What I’ve learned | Patterns seenzus gradually notices while watching over things for you; you can disable any of them at any time. |
| Skills | A way of doing a kind of task that you teach the butler; skills can be added, enabled and disabled. |
| Your call | The inbox for things that need your decision (anticipations, devices waiting to be sorted, and so on); tapping the lemon-colored “Wants to ask you” strip on the home page opens it. |
| Activity | The record of every action that has happened in your place, each marked with its origin. |
| Tidying / Tidy desk | The process of sorting devices into the right Spaces and cleaning up their names; seenzus suggests, you confirm. |
| Owner / Member | The owner owns and runs this Smart Space; members are people invited in, and can be limited to a visibility scope. |
| Memory | The preferences it has learned — split into “this place’s” (per Space) and “yours personally”. |
| Occupant | Someone in the space who is looked after but doesn’t log in, such as a hotel guest. seenzus looks after the room; it doesn’t identify individuals. |
