BroadLink Device Setup Guide

BroadLink is a popular brand of IR/RF remote control and smart home products, and Home Assistant ships with an official Broadlink integration. This guide shows how to add the Broadlink integration in Home Assistant and connect your BroadLink device via its IP address.

Before getting started, confirm the following, and refer to the version information table below:

  • Your Home Assistant is up and running, and you can access its dashboard.
  • Your BroadLink device has been provisioned onto your Wi-Fi via the BroadLink app and is on the same local network as Home Assistant.
  • You have found the BroadLink device’s IP address (check your router’s admin page or the BroadLink app).

Go to Settings > Devices & Services > Integrations > Add Integration, type broadlink in the search box, and click the search result to add it.

In the dialog that appears, enter the BroadLink device’s IP address, then click Submit to complete the setup.

Can’t find the Broadlink integration in searchBroadlink is a built-in Home Assistant integration and should normally show up in search; if not, try refreshing your browser or restarting Home Assistant once.
Connection fails after submitting the IPConfirm the device IP is entered correctly, the device is online, and Home Assistant and the BroadLink device are on the same local network.
Device IP keeps changingAssign a static IP / DHCP reservation to the BroadLink device in your router, to prevent IP changes after reboots from breaking the connection.

The core flow for connecting a BroadLink device is: Settings → Devices & Services → Add Integration → search for broadlink → enter the device IP → Submit. Once done, you can control your BroadLink device from Home Assistant.
