FAQ
This page answers the questions we hear most, in three groups: network and security, devices and everyday use, accounts and pricing. Below that, step-by-step tutorials for bringing each brand’s devices into Home Assistant.
Setup tutorials
Section titled “ Setup tutorials”seenzus learns about your devices through your Home Assistant. Devices not in HA yet? Follow the tutorials below to bring them in first, then come back to Quickstart to pair.
Install the store first (every plugin install relies on it): HACS (official, GitHub authorization) · HACS Turbo (recommended in mainland China)
Connect devices by brand: Xiaomi Home · Xiaomi Miot · Tuya · Midea · Haier · BULL · BroadLink · eWeLink · Roborock vacuum · Sony TV
Connect by device type: Smart speakers · Cameras · EZVIZ cameras · Zigbee (ZHA) · Apple HomeKit Bridge · Apple home hub
Network & security
Section titled “ Network & security”Do I need a public IP or a tunnel?
Section titled “Do I need a public IP or a tunnel?”No. seenzus Bridge dials out from inside your place (outbound MQTT); your Home Assistant exposes no ports.
Is my data safe?
Section titled “Is my data safe?”- Every bridge gets its own connection credentials and can only send/receive on its own lane;
- Your Smart Space is fully isolated from everyone else’s at the data layer;
- A Source’s connection credentials are stored encrypted by seenzus and never shown again in the interface.
Pairing keeps failing — what now?
Section titled “Pairing keeps failing — what now?”Restart with the HACS Official complete setup and follow every step through authorization and the return to seenzus. Still stuck? Come find us with the status shown on the Source card.
Devices & everyday use
Section titled “ Devices & everyday use”Which devices are supported?
Section titled “Which devices are supported?”The common controllable devices Home Assistant recognizes — lights, air conditioners, fans, curtains, switches, media players, door locks — seenzus can look after them all; readings like temperature, humidity and power come along with the device. Devices that can’t be controlled are shown read-only, as they are — it never pretends it can control them.
Can I use it when I’m not home?
Section titled “Can I use it when I’m not home?”Yes. seenzus lives in the cloud, and the app works wherever you go — which is exactly what makes guesthouse and multi-site scenarios possible.
Will it move my devices behind my back?
Section titled “Will it move my devices behind my back?”No. Actions like switching things on and off or adjusting the temperature are confirmed with you before they run — it’s a butler, not the owner of the place.
Why can’t I see some entries?
Section titled “Why can’t I see some entries?”You may be a member with a limited visibility scope. Owner-only entries (such as “Integrations”) are hidden from you — that’s privacy by design, not a bug. See Members & permissions.
Accounts & pricing
Section titled “ Accounts & pricing”I forgot my password
Section titled “I forgot my password”The sign-in page supports email and password, plus “Continue with GitHub” and “Continue with Google”. To reset a password, sign in with GitHub / Google first, or contact the administrator who set up your account.
Does it cost money?
Section titled “Does it cost money?”The product’s currently published policy applies; everything you’ve already connected keeps working as before.
